Often, with just a few little tweaks, you can get the increased revenue you’re looking for without scraping your entire campaign and starting over from scratch. You may even want to tweak a productive campaign because it can always be better. Here are a few tips that will help improve your PPC ad campaigns.

What Outcome Do You Want?

If you don’t know what you want to achieve with your goal, you won’t be able to work towards it. Do you want to improve your sales? In that case, you need to focus on conversion. Want to simply get more people to your website? Then you need to get in search results. Also, you need to set a way of measuring this outcome. It’s not enough to say you want to improve your sales. By that logic, making one sale more than you did in the last period means you met that goal.

Change Out Underperforming Keywords

There’s no reason to keep a keyword in your PPC ad campaign if it’s not bringing in visitors. You may find that the keywords you thought would be the best are actually not performing well. Don’t keep them. Any keyword that results in low clicks, conversions, or impressions can be replaced with one that performs better.

Your Keywords May Not Be the Problem

If you have done some testing on your keywords and they seem to be performing well, the issue may be your ad copy. Take a look at it and see what you can do to improve the text your potential customers are seeing. Does it address a problem and present a solution? Does it ask users to take a specific action? Does it invoke an emotion? It needs to do at least one of these. Also look at your word choice. Words like “free” and “guaranteed” tend to get people’s attention. Also write the ad in second person using “you” instead of “customers.” Speak directly to the person you want to visit your website.
